What obligations do companies have to users of their Web-based services?
What obligations do companies have to users of their Web-based services? WHAT OBLIGATIONS DO THE USERS OF THESE SERVICES HAVE ?
Need explaination in details
If you read the typical contract closely the companies have the obligation to use their best efforts to provide the services, but are not liable in the event they fail to do so. In other words they don’t have any obligations to anyone.
The users are obligated to pay for the services which may or may not be provided by the companies.
Oh, I almost forgot, in most cases the user can cancel and will get a refund on the unused portion of their advance payment.
If you don’t believe me read some of those contracts carefully.
Hope this helps

I am converting a vacation home into a respite or residential home for disabled. I can house 4 or 5 adults. How do I do this, with all the legalities and such. I am in San Diego California.

What is the best computer processor ever?
I have always wondered, what is the best computer processor ever made? Answers would be most helpful.
For Consumers,
Some might argue the Intel 80386 and others, the Intel Centrino/Pentium M (from 2004). This Centrino processor was actually a laptop processor, but it could be fitted into a 775 desktop slot with an adapter. It was the coolest (least amount of heat – 27W) processor of the planet, meaning it could be overclocked like crazy. It was a little known fact that this was the best gaming processor on the market for 18 months when overclocked and beat out every desktop CPU on the market at its time. Now, all Intel’s new processors are based off Centrino technology like the Core2 Duo and Core2 Quad.
In my opinion it revolutionized the CPU world as Ghz were not and no longer emphasized – instead efficiency and low heat output was.
What modern novel is comparable to Phantom of the Opera?
I am writing a research paper comparing a modern novel and a contemporary one, and I would like to use Phantom of the Opera. Does anyone know of a modern novel that has a similar theme, tone, setting, or plot?
Bel Canto.
I haven’t read it myself, but my mom’s been telling me about it for a while.
It’s about a Japanese bussiness man who really likes this one opera singer from an unnamed Latin American country so he gets her to sing for his birthday party at the country’s vice president’s house when a group of revoluionists in search for the president come and take everyone at the party hostage.
Ot is simalar because it is about holding an opera singer hostage.
is it better to get an interior design degree or an interior decorating degree?
is the money better for interior design? i understand the differences between the two: designer must be licensed, can change structures, etc., but which is a more lucrative career path?
Your Interior Design Degree is the one that will make you more money, anyone can be a decorator, teachers and professionals will tell you that a decorator is someone with good taste, a designer is better educated and can do more.
What is the best type of marker to ink manga drawings?
I only have a sharpie, but what would be a good marker for inking drawings that doesn’t go over $15?
I have a couple brands that I like to use when inking pictures, depending upon what kind of line I’m inking.
First there is the Faber-Castell Pit Artist Pens, they come in sets and also are sold as individual pens with various nibs. My favorite is the brush nib that gives the fluid line of a brush, with the continuous ink flow of a marker. A set of four with various nibs is about $11 or a single pen for $3.
Next I have a set of Staedtler pigment liners. These have a very nice feel in your hand and I use a lot for general inking. They do tend to bleed a little bit, so I don’t really use them for detail work. A set of four is about $10.
Finally I have two Pigma Micron pens. These come in very small nib sizes and I’ve found that they don’t bleed very much. They are very good for adding small details to your piece. These are about $3 a piece.
I hope this helps
How does contemporary art work help recognize the past art?
How does contemporary art work like magazine advertisements help recognize visual strategies past artists used in their work?
It isn’t an objective so I’d have to say: It doesn’t.
How accessible are the buildings to persons who are in wheelchairs, blind, or hearing-impaired?
During your day think of the buildings you have enter, the streets you cross, and the activities in which you have participated in. How accessible are these to persons who are in wheelchairs, blind, or hearing-impaired? What areas have not been made accessible to these individuals? How does accessibility limit their participation in the activities in which you regularly participate? How could these areas be made more accessible to individuals with disabilities?
the one thing I hate -is HEAVY doors-yeah they are wide enoguh-but some material is heavy-even for a person who is not disabled..
I was injured at a mall recently due to poor design at the accessible entrance-the track teh door was on was high-and I tripped over it due to stiffness related to my disability-
Bright white steps are not good for people with vision difficulties-they reflect light and aggravate perceptual difficulties-yet they are ‘up to code’ the injury to my arm says the code needs to be modified-to note the danger
also-code says that only a couple stairs doesn’t need a handrail-when you have limited mobility it does
Dollar stores are infamous to having inaccessible aisles-it’s hard to walk through with all the boxes-forget about using a chair—
lack of seating for people with mobility difficulties not usiing a chair-especially the long check out lines……the cashier/manager-needs to let the perosn with a disability sit somewhere while awaiting their turn-(i.e person with disability is after manin red shirt-person w disability sits near register until person with red shirt is down-and tehn rejoins line at frongt)
and teh bus signs–people who are visually impaired can’t drive-in my area-th signs for teh bus routes are regularly 7 feet from teh ground-so you can’t get close to read them if you hav low vision
How much do architects really earn?
I heard that although architects earn around 50k or 60k per year, they get big money on contracts (like 300k per contract) and they can do around 3 per year. (so that’s like almost 1 million per year).
is that right?
If architects only get 50k per year, why are they seen at the same level as lawyers and doctors who earn much more?
Architectural firm fees’ rule of thumb is $12-20/sf depending on the project and architect. It is not uncommon for contracts to be in the worth of over $1 million. However, you have to look at the overall contract, many of these contracts also include fees for outside consultants like structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical engineering. For argument’s sake, let’s say consultant fees amount to 30% of the general fee, the firm must still pay for their staff. A project with a million dollar fee would require a team consisting of the firm’s principal, lead project architect, project technical architect (specification, qc and construction administration), four drafters/job captains and office support staff (administrative). Beyond that, there is the cost of doing business, professional insurance, rent, office equipment (about $8k/computer), supplies, medical insurance, taxes, workman’s comp insurance, training interns, etc. To add on top of that, there are costs associated with marketing material, attempts at projects that was awarded to other firms.
From my experience, architects are not seen at the same level as lawyers and doctors. They may come close in terms of the years of education + training, but they’re not close in compensation.
