What does the lack of a 13th floor in high rise buildings say about modern society?
Many buildings omit the 13th floor because of the number of people who carry a ridiculous superstition about the number 13.
What does this say about our society? How much are we willing to put up with?
And more to the point… How elaborate does a superstition need to be before it becomes a religion? Where does superstition end and religion begin?

I guess they think that fate cannot count. If there are at least 13 floors then there is a 13th one no matter what it is called.

Yep….people are to damn stupid to figure out the 14 is really 13. Which explains why they are superstitious in the first place.
