PostHeaderIcon What does the lack of a 13th floor in high rise buildings say about modern society?

Many buildings omit the 13th floor because of the number of people who carry a ridiculous superstition about the number 13.

What does this say about our society? How much are we willing to put up with?

And more to the point… How elaborate does a superstition need to be before it becomes a religion? Where does superstition end and religion begin?

You know what else? The company that made my wristwatch omitted the number 13 on the watch face!

PostHeaderIcon What is this brown cocoon all over the outside walls of buildings?

All along outer walls of buildings in south Florida I see these faded light brown looking cocoons. Never found a bug in them, don’t exactly see a cave for a bug, but I do see some sort of sticky top where it hangs that seems like it seals the hole for the bug.
What are they?! How do u prevent them?

Maybe they could be egg sacs, since you don’t see a hollow for a bug to fit.

PostHeaderIcon Condo Building Demolition Implosion

The high-rise condominium structure at 1515 S. Flagler in West Palm Beach, FL was damaged beyond repair by hurricanes. It had been an eyesore for years and today, the Kelly family fixed the problem, once and for all.
The Idaho-based Kelly family travels from state-to-state imploding buildings. The 30-story structure they implode here is, by far, the tallest building the Kellys have imploded.
