PostHeaderIcon How can I keep my pencil drawings from smudging?

I know hairspray works, but I am asking because the drawings in my sketchbook get smeared and I don’t always have hairspray with me…is there anything for an artist on the go?

Go out to the nearest art supply store and get "Workable Fixative"
When you are working on a drawing, during different stages go ahead and put a coat over the drawing.
This holds down your graphite, charcoal, chalk, or conte in place so you cant smudge it, but it still allows you to erase and work over the top of it. Once you use this, you wont even remember drawing without it,
Once you finnish the drawing, put atleast two coats over it as well, and it will help protect it from all the elements, not just smudging!!
I know you want something on the go… if you buy this just bring it with you when youre out.

PostHeaderIcon How to scan in manga drawings and colour with photoshop?

hi guys, im studing Media A2 and for my project im doing a games cover, im going to hand draw it, manga styled art. then im planning to scan it in and colour it. however i am only experienced in colouring in (photoshop) and drawing. not the scanning part. i have a few questions. shall i go over the drawings in black pen before scanned in and also any other helpfull tips ?

Many thanks

You should go over the lines very darkly because you want the photo shop program to be able to see them clearly. If you don’t you will end up redrawing the lines with photo shop, waisting time.

PostHeaderIcon How can i sell my drawings, and where can i sell them?

Most of my drawings are abstract, cartoonish. Some of my drawings are more for adult amusement.
The drawings are done with pen and color pens, and a few are charcoal.

PostHeaderIcon Where can I get a profssional blueprint made from my crude drawings?

I built a cabinet for my electronic dartboard that resembles the machines you see in bars. I want to get a professional looking blueprint made of my crude drawings and figures.

Scan them in and send them to me and we will do a few cad drawings….

Among other clients I was the design engineer for Boltz when they set up their product lines…

PostHeaderIcon Drawing for Kids: Cowboy & Giraffe (Part 1)

In part 1 of “Drawing for Kids” I show two fairly basic cartoon drawings — an easy to draw cowboy and a giraffe (that’s just a little more difficult). The reason I like these two is that kids seem to like to embellish these a little more. The cowboy ends up riding a horse or holding a gun and the Giraffe tends to end up multiple colors or having multi-colored spots.
