There are a few ways to do this. You could buy page protectors and insert your drawings into the protector. Most have three holes punched in them so you could organize your drawings in a binder. If your drawings are too large for the traditional letter sized protectors, you could use the protectors sold for inserting into scrapbooks, these are 12" x 12". In this case, you could use a scrapbook to hold your protected drawings. I have two plain scrapbooks that I use for this purpose, one is black, the other hunter green. The last way to protect the drawing would be to buy a can of the spray fixative to spray on your drawings and then keep them in file folders. Personally, I like the scrapbooks since they are easy to carry around and show people. Hope some of this information helps you. By the way, the spray fixative can be purchased at any good art supply store or a good arts and crafts store.

Do you need to be able to draw realistic drawings in order to get into animation at an art college?
I’d like to get into animation and go to Minneapolis College of Art and Design, but I am not incredible at drawing realistic drawings. I have been told I am excellent at drawing cartoons/semi-realistic pictures, but as far as the ultra-real drawings/paintings that some people are great at, I just can’t do them as well. I am good at photography, digital art, and filmmaking as well. Will I have much trouble getting into MCAD?

I came out of an Animation program at a university in California. If you want to draw, do animation, or 3D animation or modeling, then Draw! Remember the point of an art school is to TEACH you. It’s great that you are talented with photography and a few programs. Take those skills with you. If you want to be an artist, you need to be able to "express" your thoughts with a pencil! Draw draw draw. You will of course draw from life, and push your skills towards realism, but animation especially is about SIMPLIFYING life and ABBREVIATING, and SPEED. If you like to draw, if you want to be an artist, than great, go apply at your school and get ready to DRAW. They won’t expect you to be able to draw photo realistic drawings, they just expect you to want to learn!
What type kind of paper is the best to use for charcoal drawings?
Im a beginner and would like to know the best paper that I could use for charcoal drawings. What brand too if you have any in mind.
I like using either vellum (the textured side rather than the smooth) or special charcoal pads. You can both at Michael’s or other general craft stores. Anything with a bit of tooth to it will give you a good texture and grip.

I did this quick drawing to test out the new camera, turns out that the cam is too sensitive to light changes and keeps auto adjusts contrast, even when the option is set to manual. Need to do some more test later
