How many missles can a modern jet fighter hold?
How many missles can a modern jet fighter hold?
Which is the jet fighter that can hold the most?
I was wondering about this question somehow because of watching transformers Lawl?
Quote: "the new F-22 Raptor (not from transformers) can hold up to 16 sidewinders or 14 Sparows or 14 of AiM-9 Sidewinders and AiM-7 Sparows."
WOW! Someone has no idea what they’re talking about or maybe plays to many video games. Most modern fighters typically carry 6-8 missiles at the most. The F-22 is currently certified to carry 6 AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles and 2 AIM-9 Sidewinder’s. It does not currently carry any more missiles.
As of now, the maximums are 14 by the F-22 "Raptor" (the aircraft in the Transformers) and the Su-35 "Flanker-E". These are extreme A2A loadouts and highly unlikely to be flown as such into combat.

Depending on the type of aircraft and the way it is deployed.
If an aircraft is deployed for air to air combat it’s usually equipped with about 6 or 8 air to air missiles. (depending on aircraft type) usually these are a combination of radar guided medium range and infrared line of sight missiles.
If an aircraft is deployed as a fighter/bomber (for example the F-16) It usually carries 2 or 4 air to air missiles. These load outs however, strongly depends on the mission, the state to which it belongs and the type of aircraft.
So there’s no standard answer to this.

Depends on the size of these missiles + which ones you’re talking about
